Book of the Month
Our April Book of the Month is Rubyfruit Jungle by Rita Mae Brown.
Written in the 70s but in many ways lightyears ahead of its time, Rita Mae Brown’s Rubyfruit Jungle is a lesbian coming of age story with a main character you have no choice but to fall in love with - and not just because we all love a pushy lesbian.
Molly Bolt - wonderful, fantastic Molly Bolt - is the adopted daughter of a dirt-poor couple in Philadelphia who grows up picking bugs off potatoes and playing rough with boys. She is consistently told that everything about her is wrong - and consistently tells the world she doesn’t care, as long as she’s doing what makes her happy.
Binders, books & flair!
Welcome to Aoteaora New Zealand's one stop queer shop for all your gender affirming, pride merch, and LGBTQAI+ bookstore needs.
We're run by queers, for queers, and have tried almost everything in store (so we only stock the good stuff!). Everything in store is designed or made by queer and feminist makers. We also give away 10% of all our online sales each month, and every Community Fund donation goes to local queer charities.
Check out our pop up page for when we're going to be in your area - we love to see you! Feel free to flick us a message if there's anything you'd like us to consider stocking, or if you have any questions about what we do x
People bind for a multitude of reasons. Even cis men use binders! Here's a step by step guide on how to measure for a binder, why people use binders, and how to stay safe.
